Charleston Cup

This year marked the 20th running Charleston Cup Horse Races. Bring your hats, byob, bring your fancy cups, put on your favorite dresses, your boots, and head to the races for some fun.
The Charleston Cup is held at the Plantation at Stono Ferry.

You can bring your favorite furry pet to the races too!  Meet Gibbes, our friend's little sweetheart.

There was food galore.  The VIP tent had these chicken sandwiches...

and this amazing potato salad with so much more...

Shrimp and grits...

I ran into my friend, Caitlin, and her mother.  Any day now, Caitlin is going to say she introduced me to her sister, and she wasn't really her mother.

Aren't their hats amazing?  She is a member of the Charleston Hat Ladies check it out here.

These horses are so incredibly beautiful and they have so much personality.

Many people live in the neighborhood surrounding the track and they ride over on their golf carts to tailgate before the races.

Food vendors galore set up shop inside the race track.  One of my favorites was this Italian gelato vendor.  You can try their ice cream downtown too.  Check out their store here at Paolo's Gelato.

I tried the mint julip, caffe mouse, and rice pudding all in one little cup.

We brought our own backpack chairs.

GIF fun...

What is an event without a little fried food?  We tried a yummy fish platter at the Chuck Town Seafood vendor.

Love these girls.
