Le Diner En Blanc Charleston

Le Diner En Blanc was a fabulous white party held for the first time in Charleston.  Major cities around the world have been enjoying Diner En Blanc for years and it has finally made its way to Charleston.

The white picnic secret location this year, revealed at the very last minute, was Brittlebank Park.

We gathered our food, tables, anything white we could find, and headed out on the golf cart.  We met our group leader, Atosha, at the Joe Riley Stadium and there they revealed the location of the picnic.

Flower crowns, fancy hats, and fascinators were everywhere...

Thank you Christophe Chocolatier for these amazing macaroons...

We purchased a packed picnic dinner from Butcher & Bee for the evening.  Check out this menu below, it was incredibly delicious...

We randomly had to choose a group leader for the dinner and by pure luck got to sit with some old friends.  We haven't seen Whitney (Whitney Rietz Designs) or Holly (Flair Marketing) in 6 years, they were our florist and wedding planner for our wedding.  Love these two!

The evening was a total reunion, our wedding photographer was there too!  Kate Thornton of Captured by Kate Photography.

This is Atosha, our sweet group leader...

Holly with her husband, Alex, of EventHaus Rentals.  Alex also was a huge player in our wedding.  He did an amazing job with our lighting and tents.

Sparklers!

Jennifer and Victoria in their beautiful flower crowns...

Photo booth fun...

Goldfish as a centerpiece!

Out on the dance floor I met some fellow bloggers, @queenofthefoodage and @basilandbubbly.

I just loved this tutu and fascinator...

I found a furry friend at the party.  It looked like she was having a tough time drinking her Moet but with a little help she managed.

Until next year!

Flower Crown Girl's Night for Le Diner en Blanc

Le Diner en Blanc comes to Charleston.

François Pasquier  started Le Diner en Blanc 27 years ago, and the Dîner en Blanc in Paris includes around 15,000 people each year.

Dîner en Blanc's is held at a secret place until revealed on your bus ride there. The dress code is all white and you'll meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space here in Charleston.

You will need to bring your own table, chairs, cutlery, china, and glassware or you may rent them.  Also, you are encouraged to bring an elegant meal for two but there are prepared meals from local restaurants prepared for purchase as well.  Check out more of how the night unfolds on the website, Diner en Blanc.

I had a girl's night at our newly finished home to make ourselves some flower crowns.

We started the flower crown with floral tape and wire.

I chose to incorporate some fake flowers with some baby's breath.

We enjoyed some fruit, cheese, and wine while we made our crowns.

Here is where you begin, measure the wire so that it is a little bit larger than your head to make room for flowers.  Then wrap the wire in floral tape.

Next, you'll start wrapping the cut flowers and finish by wrapping both the flowers with the wire you've prepared.  Start on one side of the wire and move toward the other side placing the floral tape toward the direction you move.

Victoria got sleepy in a bed full of flowers like Dorothy in the poppy field.  (The Wizard of Oz)...

Jennifer was close to being finished.  Wait to see our final pieces on the next blog, our evening at Le Diner en Blanc.
