Flower Crown Girl's Night for Le Diner en Blanc

Le Diner en Blanc comes to Charleston.

François Pasquier  started Le Diner en Blanc 27 years ago, and the Dîner en Blanc in Paris includes around 15,000 people each year.

Dîner en Blanc's is held at a secret place until revealed on your bus ride there. The dress code is all white and you'll meet for a mass “chic picnic” in a public space here in Charleston.

You will need to bring your own table, chairs, cutlery, china, and glassware or you may rent them.  Also, you are encouraged to bring an elegant meal for two but there are prepared meals from local restaurants prepared for purchase as well.  Check out more of how the night unfolds on the website, Diner en Blanc.

I had a girl's night at our newly finished home to make ourselves some flower crowns.

We started the flower crown with floral tape and wire.

I chose to incorporate some fake flowers with some baby's breath.

We enjoyed some fruit, cheese, and wine while we made our crowns.

Here is where you begin, measure the wire so that it is a little bit larger than your head to make room for flowers.  Then wrap the wire in floral tape.

Next, you'll start wrapping the cut flowers and finish by wrapping both the flowers with the wire you've prepared.  Start on one side of the wire and move toward the other side placing the floral tape toward the direction you move.

Victoria got sleepy in a bed full of flowers like Dorothy in the poppy field.  (The Wizard of Oz)...

Jennifer was close to being finished.  Wait to see our final pieces on the next blog, our evening at Le Diner en Blanc.

Gemini Twins Part Two

Mark's birthday started with a pedicure. (his favorite)

He thoroughly enjoys them...

We grabbed an aperitif and some cheese at Bin 152, then enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Slightly North of Broad. (SNOB)

The soft-shell crab was out of this world and Mark always enjoys the vegetable plate at SNOB...

The friendly staff at SNOB is always so good about making the evening special, they brought out a delicious peach cobbler for the birthday boy...

We walked through beautiful Charleston onto the next stop (a surprise) and through the Spoleto Festival crowds...

Our surprise stop was The Griffon where some friends were waiting to jump out at him...

While we all started to sing to Mark, he tried to get the whole bar involved and waved them on to sing louder, ha!...

Traditionally, you place some bills on the walls here to end a great time, so that's just what we did...

We gave Mark the job of carrying his own balloons down the street...

He took this duty seriously and with great honor...

We all hopped on the golf cart, balloons flying in our faces and all...

Desserting al fresco at Chez Nous will never get old.

The releasing of the balloons...

The girls took some photos and the boys felt the need to copy...

We met up with some more friends at the Vendue Rooftop bar...

You can't leave without a little #pinvendue.  We tried our pin themed Charlie's Angels.

Mark got to finish his birthday in the trees...
