So you have family visiting Charleston and need something to entertain the kiddos besides the beach? Head over to the Charleston Children's Museum in downtown Charleston. They are open Tuesday-Saturday from 9AM to 5 PM and on Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. The museum is closed on Mondays. Admission is $10 and they are located at 25 Ann Street between Meeting and King Streets.
I love their little separate door for the littles.
They have a cute little gift shop as well.
Adults and children can play in the water world with boats, bridges, and waterfalls. Hop on the ship and give it a steer. Better yet grab your groceries that you need and pay for them at the real life, children's height register. Don't worry these boxes are empty as my husband points that out to the museum employees every time. He'll say, "Hey there's nothing in this box!" or " this expiration date says 2003?"
At the shorty register...
This ship has it's own dinghy...
Where there is a ship, there is always some treasure...
Water vests to protect your littles from leaving the museum soaking wet after playing in the water world.
Manon opted to get wet...
Enter the castle...
One of my favorite memories at this museum was when we were looking for my husband, Mark, at the end of the day. We couldn't find him for the longest time until we reached this puppet theater. Out popped his puppets and he gave us a little show. He is such a big kid and I love it.
Head over to the arts and crafts section and make a special piece of artwork to bring home with you.
Lastly, check out the gardens and the firetruck in the back of the museum.
