Palmetto Cafe

Good Morning Palmetto Cafe!

Palmetto Cafe is part of the Charleston Place Hotel located on Market Street, between Meeting and King Streets.  This is my favorite place in town to have brunch and there is rarely a line.

Many tourists wait in long brunch lines for places like Toast and Hominy Grill, but don't really know about this hidden gem and really miss out.

You may order from their menu until 10 PM and they have a fantastic buffet.  I would go for the buffet.

The buffet includes an omelet bar...

This is the most amazing "doughnut" anyone has ever tasted in their entire lives!  Palmetto Cafe calls this a caramel brioche and that exactly what this is.  Gooey, dripping, caramel covered buns that melt in your mouth and oh man do I want more.

And if that weren't enough, they also have a cheese blintz on the buffet.  Ricotta stuffed crepes with a delicious strawberry glaze to top it off.  It's like a cheese cake for breakfast.
Amazing!

Smoked salmon, asparagus, cereal, fresh fruit, and yogurt are some other items at the buffet.

And of course there are your staples like apple smoked bacon, link sausage, scrambled eggs, eggs benedict, stone ground grits, french toast, breakfast potatoes, and more.

I needed a second look at these...

...but really, look at that!

...inside the cheese blintz...

Of course the coffee was just as tasty as the breakfast.  This was french press organic coffee with a hint of chocolate.

We ordered some bloody marys to finish.  Delicious!

Mark somehow had room for seconds...

While Mark grabbed his second plate, I went up to the buffet just to get another look at the caramel brioche.  I wanted seconds so badly but held back.

They are just floating in the caramel and screaming, "EAT ME!"

Just as we were leaving, the brunch buffet switched over to lunch.  I took some pics for anyone looking for a great lunch in town.  Here is their lunch menu if you don't prefer a buffet.  It looks amazing...

The lunch buffet includes a taco bar with shrimp and mahi-mahi...

Lobster mac n' cheese with enormous chunks of lobster in there.  I think I'll come back to try their lunch just for this mac.  I wonder why they weren't at the "Mac Off" they may have won with this lobster fest.

Crab cakes...

Salmon and sliders...

Sushi...
