Wine Awesomeness Wine Crash

A company here in Charleston called, Wine Awesomeness, is one you will want to check out for yourselves.

It doesn't matter if you live in Charleston or not, they'll give you nothing but...

...Awesomeness!

Wine Awesomeness is a wine membership club that delivers wine to your door either bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, or at your own convenience without a membership (you may purchase wine from their online store anytime).  Your wine delivery includes a little 'Book of Awesomeness' which suggests recipes to pair with your new wine and music ideas as well (how cool is that?!).  The best part, the prices are very affordable and I'll always have wine on hand for impromptu visitors.  Awesome!  See, I told you!

We were the lucky recipients of Wine Awesomeness' "Wine Crash" dinner, and they asked us to invite 10 friends.

Sit back, pour a glass of wine, and check out what this awesome company did for us!  We are truly grateful!

Here you go!

Dale is pouring you a glass of their 2010 Panther Creek Pinot Noir.  You can purchase it here as a part of their Holiday Survivor Pack (love it!).

Only $40 for the Pack

The Wine Awesomeness crew went above and beyond, this dinner wasn't just some little affair.  "Dinner" included some charcuterie and cheeses to start (Bucherondin cheese being one of my favorites), a delicious arugula salad with homemade lasagna, and an incredible chocolate chunk cheesecake as well.  That was just dinner, Wine Awesomeness was in full effect providing us with a multitude of reds, some rose, whites, and a little bubbly too.  They meant it when they called it a "Wine Crash."  Some how we even had wine left over that they graciously offered us.

Meet Luke, Jacob, Dale, and Logan.  Four great guys from Wine Awesomeness who put a lot of work into making this night so wonderfully awesome.

So how do you decide on only 10 friends when you are in school with 72 amazing people?  I was afraid of leaving someone out so I felt it was fair to choose four guys in my class whose wives/girlfriends I had not yet met.  I was so happy I did because I may never have gotten to know four great couples.

Meet Michael and Jenny...

Katie and Mason...

Rob and Weezie (love her nickname!)...

Eryn and Lancen...

My husband and I really enjoyed the evening.  It was so nice to just sit back and socialize while someone else cooked for us.

Sweet Jenny (a crazy talented baker) brought these special treats...

Emma approved and she was our entertainer for the evening with her sweet singing voice.  (her sweet hound dog howl)

The Wine Awesomeness crew entertained us too...

You can tell how much fun the crew has together, just look at their videos posted here... or check them out on Facebook.  Logan played some of these videos for us on the big screen...

Hilarious...  Meet Christian, he is the star of their videos, mentioning how to  pair wine with everyday events.  As he describes the flavors and scents of the wine, elevator music plays in the background.  This elevator music started because their first video was in an elevator.  He's a natural!  If nothing else, head over and visit wineawesomeness.com to watch these videos.   I can't get their motto out of my head, it's quite catchy.

"You know what we say, wine all the time at Wine Awesomeness."

More vino?

Logan did a great job tossing the salad...

How about some rose?
This is Wine Awesomeness' rose called Watts Up.  Delicious...

Only $18

Homemade Lasagna...  More is waiting in the oven.

So good...

There is that famous book,
of Awesomeness...

Cheesecake!

Mini pecan pie made by Jenny...

A night of laughter for sure...

These wines below were some of my favorites that we tasted...

And a game of corn hole on the porch to finish the evening..

I wish I knew at the beginning, that you can get points by landing on the board.  The only points I calculated were the bags that landed in the hole!  I thought we had a close tie until we didn't. :(  Not even close!

Our sweet Eileen, my mother-in-law, surprised us with a gift certificate to our first month with Wine Awesomeness and my husband surprised me with a membership!  Holla!

Look what arrived the very next business day!

So, who wants their very own box of Awesomeness to arrive at their doorstep?

My mother is my idol and she gives back at every single step she takes.  She claims she was given so much in life and that she is paying it forward.  We are so grateful for such an amazing evening and all of the hard work that it took to give such a nice dinner.  I want to give one lucky person their very own awesome experience of a $75 gift certificate to Wine Awesomeness.  You may use it toward the purchase of 6 bottles of wine or to start your own bi-weekly, monthly, or quarterly membership.

CHARLESMOPOLITAN

The Charleston-er Blog has taken a back seat to my dental school finals for the past 3 weeks.  But now I am back and with a new name, CHARLESMOPOLITAN!

Why did I change the name?  The Charleston-er is easily broken up into two words that make the blog seem as though it is about something other than Charleston.  Calling the blog the "Charles-Stoner" gives the idea that one will be reading about something completely different.  The name was intended to be all about my favorite town, Charleston, SC.

Plus, it doesn't help when I post pictures of food like these...

The last dental school final for the fall semester was yesterday morning.  I am ready to post all of the food and fun I have been having these past couple of weeks now that I am rested.

There is no better feeling then cuddling up in my down comforter and getting some much needed couch time after 9 final exams.

Here is a little taste of what my past two weeks have been like.  We will call it my very own, personal, Groundhog Day.  I woke up to test day everyday.

But I did get to have a little fun in-between.  The next blog posts include some dinners with my husband, Snow Ball (our dental school ball), an awesome Wine Crash dinner by Wine Awesomeness, our new golf cart, and even a give-away!  Stay tuned for the Awesome Give-away!

I hope you like the new name, CHARLESMOPOLITAN!

Glazed

There should be no reason that I was craving doughnuts this morning after such a self indulging Thanksgiving holiday that has passed.  But this morning the doughnut craving won...

I am especially a sucker for jelly doughnuts.

 Glazed's Menu:

Apple Cider
Raspberry Glazed
Sweet Potato
*Maple Bacon*
Purple Goat (berry goat cheese filling, lavendar glaze)
*Pumpkin Cream Cheese Roll*
Chocolate glaze with Chocolate sprinkles
and more

The maple bacon doughnut tastes like Sunday Brunch.  It's a must have!

I cannot describe how heavenly this pumpkin cream cheese roll was.

I couldn't quite find the goat cheese in the berry goat cheese filled doughnut.  I continued looking for it with every bite...

More searching...

Still no evidence of the goat cheese.  Oops I curiously devoured the entire doughnut!
Yikes!  Back on the workout train tomorrow.

Glazed Gourmet is a must try!  Find them on upper King Street here.
